About Coastal FC

What is Coastal FC?

Coastal FC is a registered, not-for-profit, society based in South Surrey, BC that offers soccer programs for boys, girls and adults in South Surrey, White Rock, and neighbouring communities.

Formation and Foundation

Coastal Football Club was created on October 15, 2012 as a result of the amalgamation of the Peace Arch Soccer Club, the Semiahmoo Soccer Club and the South Fraser Soccer Club.

Peace Arch Soccer Club was founded in 1965 to provide organized soccer programming for boys aged 5–18 years old, and, in 2008, added an adult men’s program. Semiahmoo Soccer Club was founded in 1988 to provide organized programs for girls aged 5–18 years old, and, in 2004, added an adult women’s program.

South Fraser Soccer Club was formed in 2011 as a joint venture of Peace Arch Soccer Club and Semiahmoo Soccer Club to apply for a BC Soccer Premier League franchise, which South Fraser was awarded in 2011. South Fraser FC provided elite-level soccer programs for boys and girls aged 12–18 years old.

The Club has grown from a membership of a few hundred boys and girls in its early years to a total of approximately 4,000 boys, girls, men and women, and has adopted a vision of providing a top-level, player-first soccer development environment in the South Surrey, White Rock, and neighbouring communities.

Financial Commitment to Our Community

Coastal FC’s history also includes financial participation with the City of Surrey in field improvements at South Surrey Athletic Park (SSAP), HT Thrift, Jessie Lee and South Meridian, and the new construction and renovation of soccer-related facilities. For example, Coastal FC was involved in financing the warm-up area at the east end of the SSAP #9 turf field, which the Club paid for at a cost of $300,000. The Club is also a member of the South Surrey Field House Society, which organized the 1992 construction of the Rotary Field House located in SSAP, and to which the Club contributed $110,000.
